The MPO will present the Final Master Bike and Pedestrian Plan to the public on Thursday, July 9, 2009 at 5:30 p.m. in the 2nd floor Council Chambers at the Texas City Hall. A copy of the Bike and Pedestrian Plan may be viewed here.
The MPO is also in the process of updating the 25 year transportation plan and will be holding the first of two public meetings regarding the update on Thursday, July 9, 2009 at 6:30 p.m. in the 2nd floor Council Chambers at the Texas City Hall. Please contact the MPO for more information.
The Texarkana Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) is the administrative agency for the Texarkana Urban Transportation Study (TUTS).
The purpose of the MPO is to provide local citizens and elected officials the opportunity to be involved in the transportation planning process.
The Texarkana MPO consists of a Policy Committee, a Technical Committee, a Citizens’ Advisory Committee, and the MPO Staff.
The MPO serves the cities of Texarkana, Arkansas, Texarkana, Nash, and Wake Village, Texas, and portions of Miller and Bowie Counties and is responsible for continuous, comprehensive, and coordinated transportation planning within the MPO Study Area.
The MPO study area is comprised of nearly 195 square miles in northeast Texas and southwest Arkansas.
